The Story

In my work there is both a transparent quality to the paint in some places and opaque quality in others. In addition, I use a variation of color from bright to muted. I also use a similar variation in texture. In some places I sand and achieve a very smooth surface and in others, I build up the paint with many layers. Drawing a comparison between my paintings and the human condition is what drove me to paint these portraits.
