The Story

I carve into the paint while it is still wet, with a palette knife to further explore some appropriate means of developing the content of the work. It is through this process that the work gathers into itself a complexity or gestalt that is difficult to separate from its broader sense of purpose, meaning or identity. I suppose that makes my paintings a lot like people.
