Triptych of Castiglion Fiorentino, Cortona, and Foiano della Chiana by Jamie Davis

The Story

I believe it is human nature to search for clarity out of chaos. In my works, I provide direction for my viewers without giving all the information with the intention that they piece the imagery together. This painting is part of a triptych (set of three) landscape painting. Each of the three are based on three small countryside towns in Tuscany. Check out how the horizon line flows from left to right as each painting becomes less referential and more abstract, each piece more out of focus.
